Project Details

Our design for new picnic shelters and toilet buildings at Keller Regional Park interprets the historic Keller Golf Course Clubhouse through a contemporary lens, creating structures that resonate with the site's heritage while meeting modern functional requirements.

The careful siting and orientation respond thoughtfully to the park's evolving landscape context, with material choices—particularly limestone retaining walls—echoing those used on the historic clubhouse and creating visual continuity across the site. Landscape connectivity and rest areas support circulation through the park while the structures themselves become gathering destinations. Toilet building construction completed in fall 2007, with additional picnic shelters and facilities following in 2009, demonstrating how sequential development can enhance a comprehensive site over time. The Keller Regional Park shelters exemplify our commitment to designing public facilities that respect historic context while serving contemporary community needs.
